Environmental badge obligatory for green zones in Germany also for foreigners!Purchase your badge prior to your visit to Germany!

Already from March 1, 2007 on, vehicle restrictions in environmental green zones can be issued in cities and local districts in Germany. The requirement is that they were specially marked as being green zones by the city or municipality.

The areas especially threatened by fine particulate matter must be marked as "environmental green zones" with the sign 270.1. The obligatory additional sign then regulates which vehicles with which colour of environmental badges are allowed access into this area. The sign 270.2 rescinds the environmental green zone.

Vehicles without environmental badge may not pass through the green zone, otherwise a penalty of 40,00 € and a penalty point in Flensburg impend, even if the vehicle would be allowed to pass through the zone based on its emission value. This is also valid for all vehicles registered in foreign countries, like cars, trucks, and busses, as well as for business travellers and for tourists. For this reason it is recommended that all drivers to inform themselves about the environmental badges, and to purchase it on time, if they wish to enter one of the increasing number of green zones during the next months and years after January 1, 2008.

About us

The group GEMB mbH has its registered office in Berlin/Germany and acts as the parent company of Green Zones, Emissionshändler.com and Climate Company. All three areas of this information, consulting and trading group are concerned with climate and environmental issues.
The GEMB mbH is the Company for Emission Management and Consulting and is registered in the commercial register of the lower regional court of Berlin Charlottenburg, Germany, under the number HRB 101917.

Green Zones:
With its websites www.green-zones.eu, www.umwelt-plakette.de, www.umwelt-pickerl.at and www.ecosticker.dk, Green Zones provides information on the topics of fine particles, emissions, the environment and the subsequent increasing traffic restrictions in European countries due to the establishment of environmental zones.
Given the fact that such information is provided neither in a central nor, in our opinion, in a sufficient way by public authorities in Europe and the respective countries, we inform hereto for free on our websites.
We cover our expenditures and staff expenses as well as the substantial costs related to the maintenance of up to 35 different foreign websites with the purchase of environmental badges for private persons and enterprises. These are at the moment the German Umweltplakette, the Austrian Umweltpickerl and the Danish Ecosticker (each domestic or foreign car needs these environmental badges for driving within the respective designated zones in these countries). Further national badges will follow in the next years.

Emissionshändler.com:
Through the websites www.emissionshaendler.com, www.handel-emisjami.pl, www.handel-biomasa.pl and www.handel-energia.pl, Emissionshändler.com is working in the areas of the compulsory emissions trading and the biomass market in Poland, Germany and Austria. Since December 2005, Emissionshändler.com deals with CO2-certificates/emissions rights (purchase, sale and exchange) for companies at various energy stock exchanges in Europe as well as via bilateral trade.

Climate Company:
Climate Company, with its website www.climate-company.de, buys and compensates CO2-emission rights for private persons and companies that are not taking part to the compulsory emission trading system of the European Union.
Climate Company provides information about climate change, climate protection and CO2-free car driving (so-called CO2-compensation). Furthermore, Climate Company offers for private persons the purchase of climate gifts and climate neutrality. In this way, every individual can take an active part in the European trading system for emission rights or get involved in international projects for climate protection – in any case, do something for our climate and our future.
